- Criminal Injuries Compensation Claims
Western Australia law allows victims of crime to pursue criminal injuries compensation claims for injuries and losses suffered as a consequence of the crime. The current maximum amount for a single offence is $75,000 and for multiple unrelated offences $150,000.
Claims include those for injuries and losses suffered as a consequence of the crime…
It is not necessary in order to pursue a criminal injuries compensation claim for a victim to actually identify who perpetrated the offence. Under the law even if a victim suffers injury as a result of an alleged offence the victim still has the right to make an application. Leon Martin specialises in criminal injuries compensation applications and can assist you with the progress and settlement of your application.
No charge of the firm’s legal fees if the case fails to settle
Under Leon Martin’s No-Win-No-Fee scheme, you do not have to pay any of our firm’s legal fees if your claim fails to settle. There may however be disbursements including for example medical/expert reports which you would be liable for in any event. If your action is successful there could also be an uplift fee if expressly agreed. Should the claim fail to succeed Leon Martin will waive their legal fees.
We offer No-Win-No-Fee arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
Leon Martin can offer our No-Win-No-Fee scheme for most cases including workers compensation claims, motor vehicle accident claims, mining accidents, criminal injuries compensation claims, Superannuation TPD/Income Protection/Salary Continuance claims.
You should be aware that each case is different and in complex cases some upfront charge may be made due to the need for extensive initial investigations. Talk to us and we can assess your individual case and help advise you about how to proceed.
