Our client a glazier employed by a labour hire company was hired to work at a construction site for the principal contractor at the site. Whilst working at the construction site our client suffered significant hand injuries when a glass panel fell onto his finger. Our client, an employee of a contractor, was performing work as a fitter in a manufacturing company. The manufacturing company requested our client to drill into concrete and provided him with a drill to do so. Whilst drilling into concrete our client sustained severe injuries to his shoulders, upper arms, neck and arms as a result of the defective drill getting jammed into the concrete and the consequent twisting of the loose handle of the drill. Leon Martin Barristers and solicitors brought a District court action against the manufacturing company and the employer, in particular a public liability claim against the Manufacturing company seeking damages for the injuries and loss of income sustained by our client. Leon Martin Barristers and solicitors were successful against the manufacturing company and employer obtaining damages in excess of $700,000.
